A Day on James St. #2

WE’RE COMING BACKSome of you may remember that last year on Sat May 26 members of The Factory went up and down James Street North with cameras to record interviews and images for A Day On James Street North (ADOJSNorth). This was a strictly volunteer event to make a video to showcase what The Factory is capable of. That video has been distributed to our funding agencies to declare our commitment to the community we serve.

It wasn’t made for anyone’s profit. It was an affirmation of our mandate. The Factory’s continued funding relies on our ability to mix the area’s filmmakers with the community.

We need your help to do that.

We plan to shoot ADOJSSouth.

Anyone with a video camera will be needed for the shoot date which will be determined at the meeting.

It goes without saying that we need as many technicians and pieces of equipment we can pull together as well as general volunteers. And please do not neglect the need for good sound.

I wish to make a particular appeal to any percussionists out there to think about recording a street soundtrack on the shoot day.

And on that note, an appeal goes out to those musically inclined to create a soundtrack for last year’s ADOJSNorth..

I will be chairing a meeting to plan ADOJSSouth for anyone who is willing to participate. I need to know your level of interest and skill and in what capacity you prefer to help. The meeting is scheduled for Monday May 12 at 7pm at The Factory. We’ll break it down then when we know the size of our team.

Send an email with your thoughts and capabilities if you are interested but the meeting conflicts with your schedule.

I would be most pleased to be able to send an army of filmmakers onto the streets one Saturday this June.

Please reply if you plan to attend the meeting or want to help on shoot day or before.

Write your passion,

J. Aldric Gaudet
